Bansko Skiing in Bulgaria
Ski Facilities
The skiing conditions in Bansko are excellent. The Pirin mountain has a predominantly Alpine character with three peaks towering above 2900 m. The skiing area comprises of over 65 km in ski runs and tracks for all types of skiers, from novice to the experts, while the ski runs are maintained in excellent condition and has a further 200 km projected over the next 2 years.
Since 2003, the resort is equipped with the latest state-of-the art Doppelmayr lifts, including an 8 passenger Gondola ropeway, 4 - seater chairlifts, 2 - seater chairlifts, T - bar lifts and platters. Since 2000, the resort disposes of lighted ski track, and each season it has been extended, so that at present its length is 16 km.
The night skiing exciting experience is available twice a week. The skiing season starts in the middle of December and ends in mid April. The average temperature during January, the coldest month, is - 1.9º C.

Golf Course
The spectacular site of the new golf course, currently under construction, is in the area of the Razlog valley at the foot of the Pirin Mountain, only 5 km away from Bansko and the Spa resort of Katarino, and it is a world class facility. The large and widespread area of 300 acre directly placed at Pirin Residence has been left as original as possible. Lots of trees are placed on the summits of the former Dunes to give you the best look - out on the dunes, the Razlog valley and the three mountains Pirin, Rila and Rodopi.
The 18 - hole executive length course, with undulating greens and challenging water hazards, tests the skill of even the most experienced golfer.
The Spa centre - Banya
Banya is situated 5 km from Bansko between the three big mountains: Pirin, Rila and Rodopi. It is famous for its mineral hot springs with high therapeutic qualities. The healing effects of the thermal springs in these mountains have been famous since antiquity. There are more than 70 hot mineral water springs in Banya with average temperature of 58º C.
